I applaud Under Armour for signing Muhammad Ali to be a spokesman for their products. Hopefully, their sports clothing and accessories line will benefit from “The Greatest” Midas touch. I had the distinct opportunity to see Muhammad Ali twice. The latter was at a NBA All Star Game; the most memorable occurred years before at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. It was around the time that Parkinson’s was beginning to invade his body. As we made eye contact on the escalator, it occurred to me that I was looking at a man who stood up for his principles and beliefs. Needless to say, his conscientious objection occurred at the height of his boxing career! Few people would have taken that type of risk! It is without question that Muhammad Ali’s stance embraced awe inspiring courage. I remember my Mother saying, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything!” Here at 73, Muhammad Ali still stands, shakily at times, but with admiration that is respected and admired. His punch is still a force to be reckoned with as he enjoys the notoriety for being one of the most recognizable people in the world!
