PostHeaderIcon WARNING – DON’T JUST LET ANYONE WALK THROUGH YOUR MIND

The above quote – though plain and simple, could not have been said better! Protect your mind from unhealthy external influences!
Be on guard.
Bad associations spoil useful habits and infiltrate unwholesome thoughts into your head.
Stop letting others put their dirty trash into your cognitive processes.
Controlling entry is pivotal. If an unhealthy entry is permitted, an exit is imminent. Stay on guard for what flows through your spirit. It is an “inside, out” flow, however what gets in may be hard to get out!
Your words, behaviors, and actions imitate/reflect what you think! Keep your suit of armor on to protect yourself from what can ultimately destroy the goodness that you have worked years to cultivate.
Stay on guard!

PostHeaderIcon DO YOU HAVE MY BACK?

By Vernalee

Years ago, I attended a seminar and a demonstration left an indelible memory. It involved a person falling back with another individual catching her. Brilliant! Can it happen?
That illustration became my model for what I felt people should want in a relationship, namely someone to catch them before a fall. That is a simple request to ask, but a huge compliance responsibility for the chosen partner to grant!
The catcher has to be 100% committed; 100% dedicated. He is your safety net. Your reliance on him has to be met with his reliability, commitment, and performance.
Don’t assume that because you have his back, he has yours!
It has to be a heart-felt and a mutual covenant between the two of you. You have to really, really trust that individual; blind trust at that! Will his presence, heart, mind, and hands be there? How confident are you?
If something goes wrong, the ground will be your new home. Peeling yourself up off the concrete is not an easy task.
Besides the fall hurts!
Ouch!
A fall is more than a physical bruising, it is an emotional scarring that stings; a fracture that may depending on circumstances last a considerable period of time!
Know for certain to the best of your comprehension who has your back! It is no guessing game; the repercussions of error are too great.
In the interim, keep your safety net handy … just in case!

PostHeaderIcon Do you have to “suit up” for work?

By Vernalee
boxer
Suits…I know that you initially thought that I was referring to you being elegantly attired in a two or three piece business suit. However in this case, I am speaking of the defense garbs, your protective outerwear. Emotional punches are thrown all day from the time you walk in until the minute you exit. You must condition your mind to withstand the blows and rope -a -dope hits. You may encounter a cadre of bosses ranging from those who have Mt. Everest height egos to those who know everything. On the sidelines are those who are discriminatory, mean spirited and arrogant. Walking alongside this group are the bullies who run the “A to Z” gamut of creating fear, anxieties, pressures, and pain as they orchestrate their mastery of being the big boss man. The job site is filled with tainted air whose fragrances stench of conceited aromas. No wonder some of the more talented and lucky ones vacate at the first opportunity to leave. Others may have to endure for mere survival, but their day will come!
I can’t answer why some of the higher ups aren’t humanistic or more civilized. I can’t comprehend their superiority filled attitudes. I praise those bosses who foster environments of equality and fair play. They have realized that the job can be accomplished without intimidation.
So to protect yourself in hostile environments, you must walk in “suited up” like Laila Ali ….just in case! Your mind must become your internal protective suit of armor. Power to power “ain’t no joke;” it’s an equalizer in a hostile work environment.

PostHeaderIcon “Jesus be a fence all around me everyday!”

In 1966, the gospel group, The Soul Stirrers led by Sam Cooke recorded, “Jesus be a fence all around me everyday.” An inspiring song, it speaks of God’s protection. With God’s protection, you are surrounded and engulfed with his love, mercy, and grace.
Sing along with me.
“Jesus be a fence all around me everyday.
Jesus, I want you to protect me as I travel along the way.
I know you can.
I know you will.
Fight my battle.
If I just keep still.
Lord be a fence all around me everyday.
This is my prayer Lord that I pray each and everyday.
That you would guide my footsteps lest I stumble and stray.
Lord I need you to direct me all along the way.
Oh Lord be a fence all around me every day.”
This is one of those old school songs. My pastor always says that everybody needs a song. The words will “keep” you. “Jesus be a fence all around me everyday ” is one of mine! I want, need, and thank The Lord for his unchanging hand and protection. I thank you Lord for keeping me in and keeping “stuff” that I don’t need out! “Jesus be a fence all around me everyday” is more than a song; it is Jesus at work in my life! Thank you Lord!
Happy Sunday. God bless!
