By definition , the golden rule means that:
“You should treat others as you would like others to treat you.
You should not treat others in ways that you would not like to be treated.”
Though this a simple directive, many find this difficult to do particularly in a “get even” society.
How can we reasonably expect others to give us what we are not willing to give them? It doesn’t add up!
In Luke 6:31, Jesus’ admonition that we “treat others as we would like to be treated” is not only the golden rule, it should be a way of life. It is not complicated at all.
Think about it! It’s a directive that can only make us and everyone that we touch better.
It is golden!
