Frederick Douglass once said,
“It’s easier to build strong boys than repair broken men.”
That quote of course crosses gender lines. Invariably, circumstances can occur in our lives that can “break” us! We can recover with diligence, hard work, guiding hands, and God’s help. That is why it is so important to guide, help, and show our children / youngsters / others ….the way. We can at least help them to not make the mistakes that we made. It is better to hold them up than pick them up! Building is better than repairing! It is our responsibility to cultivate and navigate their thinking and actions. When we do and they listen … and do, the outcomes are better! Caring goes a long way! It builds; it saves; it creates outstanding people! Trust me, somewhere along the way, you get paid back!
