There is a discernable difference between our senses and our perception. Agreed? Do we always see what we think we saw? Our senses provide "data and facts but do not always allow us to perceive or experience the items our eyes actually captured." However, it is what we actually see that transmits to our mind and heart. Thus making our view of the look and our view of what we see not always synonymous.
It is often the unseen or the perceived that is far more important than the seen. We must sometimes "take in the world around us with our mind’s eye rather than just our physical eye.” This might sound mystic; right? Yet, once we take this approach, it may be interesting what we really see. It is then that we will fully understand the meaning of the Cherokee quote that was popularized by its native‘s son, Will Rogers - " it is not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."
