Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. According to the tale, Narcissus "lay gazing enraptured into the pool, hour after hour," drowned, and finally changed into a flower that bears his name.“
Narccism is a dangerous way to be. Keeping a balanced view and perspective is essential to our staying grounded. An excessive reflection on ourselves is not healthy. Being self absorbed forces you to miss the beauty of others because you are too in tuned to yourself with a careless disregard to others. That unhealthy view is one that we don’t need.
